WAOWDEALS PRO CYCLING IS LOOKING BACK AT A MORE THAN SUCCESSFUL EMAKUMEEN BIRA. THE TEAM’S SABRINA STULTIENS TOOK A STAGE VICTORY IN THE 4-DAY-RACE IN AN AMAZING WAY. ON THE FINAL DAY, SABRINA RACED TO A SIXTH PLACE, OVER 2 MINUTES BEHIND DAY AND OVERALL WINNER AMANDA SPRATT. PAULIENA ROOIJAKKERS FINISHED EIGHTH IN THE OVERALL CLASSIFICATION.

In the final stage, the race exploded on a steep climb of first category after around 30 kilometres when a group of circa 50 riders got away, including all WaowDeals-riders. The leading group broke in pieces right before the subsequent climb of second category, forcing our riders to chase.

Sabrina Stultiens was able to connect to the front with a small group, followed by Anouska Koster and Pauliena Rooijakkers. After said climb of second category, 24 strong riders joined forces. Day and overall winner Amanda Spratt had already fled, ahead of Elisa Longo Borghini as second and Olga Zabelinskaya as third.

Sports director Jeroen Blijlevens was very satisfied with the WaowDeals-team’s performance during the 4-stage-race. “We were continuously in the midst of the battles. In some instances, we even dictated the race. We won one stage with Sabrina, but the team showed that we had several strong irons in the fire with Pauliena.”
